6 April 2025, Sunday – The grounds of Seri Mentaloon came alive with vibrant colours, joyful laughter, and the spirit of togetherness as YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Muhammad Sanusi bin Md Nor, Menteri Besar of Kedah, hosted the 2025 Aidilfitri Open House at his official residence in Alor Setar.
The festive atmosphere was further enlivened by the presence of Encik Azad bin Jasmi and the entire team from Permodalan Kedah Berhad, who joined thousands of guests in celebrating the joyous occasion with warmth, unity, and community spirit.
Running from 5.00 PM to 11.00 PM, the event saw an overwhelming turnout of over 15,000 guests—comprising dignitaries, state and federal government representatives, agency personnel, and Kedahans from all walks of life—gathering to mark the blessed month of Syawal with gratitude and cheer.
What’s an open house without a feast? Guests were treated to a spectacular spread of traditional and modern delights including fragrant nasi minyak, succulent rendang with ketupat, juicy golek lamb, sizzling satay, stir-fried kuetiau, hearty bihun sup, fluffy apom lenggang, creamy ice cream, and an endless flow of refreshing drinks—all served to the backdrop of camaraderie and celebration.
This wasn’t merely a celebration of Aidilfitri—it was a beautiful testament to the values that define Kedah: solidarity, compassion, and shared prosperity. May this meaningful gathering continue to inspire harmony and abundance across the state and its beloved people, Insya-Allah.
