The quiet of a Pattaya night was broken just after midnight on August 8, 2025, when Chonburi Immigration Police moved in on a condominium in Soi Thepprasit 9. Inside, officers led by Pol. Col. Natphong Khositsuriyamanee, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Kawinwatch Arayasuriwong and Pol. Maj. Thong Ko-tonan, arrested a 24-year-old Malaysian national, Mr. Tak Sun Chong.
Police say his alleged crimes were far from ordinary. According to investigators, Mr. Tak built a scheme that preyed on trust, luring Thai women into private encounters before secretly recording them and using the footage to demand cash. The threats were chilling—pay, or the videos would be exposed online.
The case began when a young woman walked into Pattaya City Police Station with a disturbing story. She said she had met Mr. Tak through the WeChat messaging app, where he appeared friendly and harmless. He invited her to his condominium, but what she didn’t know was that hidden cameras had been placed to capture their intimate moments. Days later, he contacted her with an ultimatum: give him money or face public humiliation on adult websites.
Her complaint set off a coordinated investigation between local police and immigration authorities. When officers moved in, they collected more than just a suspect—they seized an array of evidence. Among the items were two miniature cameras, a flash drive, memory cards, multiple electronic devices, and two mobile phones. The flash drive alone told a grim story: years of secretly recorded explicit videos, stretching from 2021 to 2025, and involving dozens of women.
Investigators believe some of the victims had already paid him sums ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands of baht, hoping to keep their private lives from spilling into public view.
Further digging revealed that Mr. Tak had entered Thailand five times on tourist visas. On his latest visit, he overstayed by more than 400 days. Initially, he denied everything and refused to cooperate. Eventually, he admitted to recording the videos for extortion and confessed to using a stolen keycard to gain access to a Jomtien condominium, which he used as his base.
Police are not taking his confession at face value. They are now probing whether any of the videos found their way onto secret online platforms. For now, Mr. Tak is being held at Pattaya City Police Station as the investigation deepens, with more potential victims likely to come forward. – The Pattaya News
