It can sometimes feel like we’re overwhelmed by choice when it comes to finding our signature scent. These days, you can decide you want to smell like a bouquet of roses or even a glass of milk. But colognes for men have historically been more limited. Rather than a smorgasbord of fragrance offerings, colognes often come with the same three or four scent notes: Amber, musk, sandalwood, and on and on.
Despite the fact that we truly adore a good moody scent (no, we really do), if you’re tired of the same old, same old colognes, you’re in luck. The world of men’s colognes has expanded to include some truly incredible scents that are unlike anything you may have tried before. “Men should be open to scents like amber and vanilla,” insists Autumne West, Nordstrom’s National Beauty Director. “Both can add a subtle sexiness to traditionally woody, spicy, and overtly masculine scents.”
