Malaysian MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman crossed the finish line of the gruelling Ironman Malaysia in an impressive 12 hours, 22 minutes, and 18 seconds – well ahead of the 13-hour target set by fashion brand Primavalet. Primavalet had earlier pledged to donate RM1 million (S$308,301) to welfare initiatives in Mr Syed Saddiq’s constituency of Muar in Johor if he completed the full Ironman triathlon in under 13 hours.
“I came here with one goal – to secure RM1 million in welfare support for my people,” said Mr Syed Saddiq after the race. “Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), while I managed a sub-13-hour finish, now PrimaValet must fulfil their promise — RM1 million for me, laptops, food banks, and Hari Raya clothes.”
