A Trip To Titanic Went So Wrong, All 5 Aboard Dead

News Asia 360

Tragically, all five people aboard the deep-sea submersible on a voyage to the Titanic wreck were killed in a “catastrophic implosion”. The US Coast Guard confirmed this news yesterday after a multinational five-day search for the vessel. It’s a devastating loss and our hearts go out to their families and loved ones during this difficult time, Reuters reported.

The Canadian ship has deployed a highly advanced robotic diving vehicle that has successfully discovered the debris field of the submersible Titan. The discovery was made on Thursday morning at a remarkable depth of 488 meters from the bow of the Titanic, making it an exceptional feat in exploration history.

US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger informed the media that the location of the incident was in a far-flung area of the North Atlantic, approximately 4km below sea level.

The Titan, a submersible owned by OceanGate Expeditions of the US, was recently reported missing after it lost contact with its surface support vessel during a dive towards the world’s most renowned shipwreck site. The incident occurred roughly one hour and 45 minutes into what was supposed to be a two-hour dive expedition.

In the aftermath of Titan’s disintegration, officials made a groundbreaking discovery within the debris field – five significant fragments were found. This includes the tail cone of the vessel and two sections of its pressure hull.

The discovery made is a significant milestone in uncovering the truth about the incident, even though it hasn’t been confirmed if human remains were found. The Coast Guard deserves tremendous credit for their unwavering determination and hard work in bringing these crucial pieces of information to light. Their thorough efforts have surely paved the way towards unravelling what truly happened.

OceanGate has released a statement revealing that all five individuals aboard the Titan, including the CEO and founder Stockton Rush, tragically did not survive. The Coast Guard confirmed this information during their recent press conference.

The world has been captivated by the recent news about an extraordinary group of individuals, which includes renowned British billionaire and adventurer Hamish Harding, Pakistani-born businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, both esteemed British citizens. In addition to this dynamic duo, French oceanographer and legendary Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet has also joined forces with them.

Despite multiple rescue teams from various countries scouring through thousands of square miles of open seas using planes and ships, the Titan remained elusive for days.

While the world was focused on a high-profile search operation, a tragedy of much greater magnitude went largely unnoticed. One of them was the sinking of a migrant ship off the coast of Greece caused hundreds of deaths, yet received very little media attention.

In 2018, safety concerns about Titan were raised by experts at a submersible symposium and also in a lawsuit filed by OceanGate’s previous head of marine operations. However, the matter was subsequently resolved later that same year. The search operation was massive, scouring an area larger than 10,000 square miles of ocean – approximately equivalent in size to the entire US state of Massachusetts.
