Brits wanting to travel to the US may soon face more comprehensive checks, including a review of their social media accounts. The new rules were listed in a new proposal from the Department of Homeland Security, which sets out how it plans to adhere to Donald Trump’s demand that foreign visitors should be “vetted and screened to the maximum degree possible”. The drastic move follows the Trump administration’s plan to expand a travel ban on people visiting the US from over 30 countries.
