Rian Johnson’s three-film-and counting whodunit franchise debuted in 2019 with Knives Out, which introduced Blanc, Daniel Craig’s eccentric super detective, and a star-studded batch of suspects that included the likes of Michael Shannon, Jamie Lee Curtis and Chris Evans. An Oscar nomination and $300 million at the box office later, Johnson signed a two-sequel deal at Netflix, which began with Blanc’s further adventures in 2022’s Glass Onion, and continues with Wake Up Dead Man, now streaming. With a cast that includes 14 Oscar-nominated actors, the time felt right to investigate and rank the top 20 performances of the trilogy.
