South Korea’s presidential office said it will officially use the name “Cheong Wa Dae” starting Monday, ending what it called the “Yongsan era” after about three years and seven months. In a notice, the presidential office said the phoenix flag will be lowered at the Yongsan presidential office at midnight Monday and raised at Cheong Wa Dae at the same time. It said the official name will change from “Presidential Office” to “Cheong Wa Dae” starting Monday.
