The US has moved its military assets close to Israel, as the apartheid state prepares for war with Lebanon.
How it escalated
The Lebanese group, Hezbollah, launched attacks on Israel starting October 8th. In support of the Palestinian people and as a response to Israel’s ongoing genocide.
According to the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), Israel has conducted 6,142 attacks on Lebanon. Hezbollah’s attacks amounted to 1,258.
The death toll on the Lebanese side is reported to be 543 deaths, while Israel has 21 deaths.
UN warns war could be “apocalyptic”
Martin Griffiths, a senior UN official and UN Humanitarian coordinator, says that the Israel-Lebanon war will go “beyond planning” and that it could be “potentially apocalyptic”.
Griffith also said that a war involving Lebanon would draw in Syria, and in turn would draw in other neighbouring countries as well.
