The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) has introduced a pilot programme at Phra Ajarn Fan Acharo Hospital in Sakon Nakhon to integrate two traditional Thai herbal formulas into holistic treatments for sexual dysfunction.
The initiative seeks to improve sexual health among both men and women, issues often linked to family stress, relationship problems and increasing divorce rates. Dr Kanyapak Silarak, hospital director and assistant director-general of DTAM, said sexual dysfunction is frequently associated with hormonal imbalances, poor blood circulation, stress and unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as smoking and alcohol consumption.
