Dongfeng has unveiled a variant of its eπ 007 sedan, marking China’s first mass-production vehicle equipped with four in-wheel motors (hub motors). This came through the recent Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filing documents. The new model maintains the dimensions of its predecessor, measuring 4880mm in length, 1915mm in width, and 1476mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2915mm. The most significant innovation lies in its powertrain – four independent in-wheel motors, each producing 100 kilowatts, manufactured by Shanghai Automobile Electric Drive Co., Ltd. This will enable it to deliver a total power output of 400kW (536 hp).
