A neglected middle child, Alfa Romeo has, in recent years, become the runt of the Stellantis litter of automakers struggling to stay afloat. Just the other day, Alfa Romeo confirmed it has cancelled plans for an electric SUV, instead extending production of its two eldest contemporary models: the Giulia and the Stelvio, according to our very own Chase Bierenkoven. Alfa Romeo claims it plans to focus on crafting a model lineup that more accurately aligns with the brand’s values and that “large SUVs” have no place within it; Alfa will instead focus on smaller cars and sporty crossovers. So then, if Alfa Romeo genuinely wants to align itself with its historical core beliefs more closely, a sporty coupe shouldn’t be out of the question, right?
