During a previous project to launch a new software, the client requested a significant change in the project’s scope, adding features that would enhance the product but would extend our timeline and exceed the budget considerably. I had to choose between accommodating the client’s request or sticking to the original plan to meet our deadline.
However, rejecting the request could harm our relationship with the client and reduce the product’s competitiveness, so I organised a meeting with my team to assess our capacity and then negotiated with the client. We agreed on a phased approach where we would implement the most critical new features immediately and schedule the rest for a future update. This decision balanced the client’s needs with our project’s constraints, maintaining both our schedule and a positive client relationship.
I think the most important lesson here is to accept that things don’t always go as planned. Having the flexibility to compromise and work on a solution is how life’s toughest obstacles can be overcome. Also, decisions always come with trade-offs, and it’s essential to think about the impact of each choice when finding a win-win solution.Â

Everyone carries a story within them, a unique narrative shaped by their experiences and life choices. Often, the most unexpected people possess the most extraordinary tales. These stories have the power to inspire, to challenge perspectives, and to connect us more deeply to the human experience. So, recommend us that person. We are keen to share their stories with open hearts and inspire others too at the same time.Â
