WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is enhancing its community organization capabilities with a new feature currently under testing. This update will allow users to easily pin upcoming events within community groups, streamlining communication and ensuring everyone stays informed.
As of last month, WhatsApp introduced the ability to pin messages in individual and group chats. Now, the company is taking it a step further by integrating event pinning specifically within its Communities feature. This dedicated section within the community info screen will offer a central hub for managing and accessing important dates and reminders.
Previously, group admins solely held the responsibility of manually pinning event-related messages. The upcoming update automates this process, automatically pinpointing events organized through WhatsApp Communities directly on the info screen. This not only eliminates the potential for missed event details but also guarantees visibility for all members, regardless of their position in the group.
While currently limited to the Android beta version 2.23.21.12, the feature is expected to roll out to all users in the near future. WhatsApp will provide an official announcement regarding wider availability.
