Although no official complaints have been filed by those involved, Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja’far, confirmed that steps are being taken to address the matter. He has directed the Damansara police station chief to file a formal report to initiate an official investigation.
The footage, which surfaced on social media yesterday, shows several groups of festival-goers engaging in a heated confrontation. The situation quickly escalated as individuals began throwing plastic chairs and metal barricades. A number of participants were also seen wielding improvised weapons and physically attacking each other.
The event, intended as a festive celebration of the Thai New Year, turned violent, prompting concerns over public safety and the need for increased security measures during large-scale cultural gatherings. —Malay Mail
