The Directorate General of Civil Aviation or DGCA had fined Air India Rs3 million due to November 26 last year’s incident when its passenger, Shankar Mishra allegedly peed on an elderly woman. DGCA in India is the regulatory body in the field of Civil Aviation primarily dealing with safety issues.
According to the report, DGCA imposed a suspension on the airline’s pilot-in-command of the flight for 3 months and fined Air India’s director-in-flight services for Rs3 million for the inability to comply with the stipulated DGCA Civil Aviation requirements in response to the incident.
Shankar Mishra, the accused individual, was banned to fly on Air India for 4 months.
