The Goal In Life Should Be To Become The Master Of Your Time And Money

Living in modern life can be distracting sometimes. It’s easy to get caught up in the never-ending cycle of work, obligations, and financial responsibilities. There are always going to be more things to do and more things to buy. However, amidst the chaos, it’s essential to pause and reflect upon what truly matters are only two—our time and our money.

By setting our sights on the goal of becoming the true master of both, I can say that we can unlock a world of freedom, fulfilment, and endless personal growth possibilities.

Time

I don’t know about you but to me, time is the most precious resource we possess. Each passing moment is an opportunity to make a positive impact on our lives and the lives of others, especially our loved ones. However, all too often, our time is dictated by external forces—demanding jobs, societal expectations, unnecessary networking sessions, and the ceaseless pursuit of ‘success’.

Becoming the master of our own time means taking charge of our own schedule, setting priorities that align with our values, and being intentional about how we spend each precious hour. It means striking a balance between work, family, parents and leisure. Not to forget, investing in relationships with our own Creator that nourish our soul is as important as others too. By consciously managing our time, we regain control over our life, shaping it into a fulfilling and meaningful life journeys.

Money

Money is a tool that can either enslave or empower us. When we become the masters of our own financial income, we transcend the shackles of financial insecurity and gain the freedom to live life in our ways. Financial independence is not about accumulating vast wealth; rather, it is about cultivating a healthy relationship with money, one that empowers us to have comfortable choices aligned with our aspirations and values.

By taking charge of our finances, especially the sources of income, we create a solid foundation for a life of abundance and purpose. It allows us to pursue our passions, invest in personal growth, and support causes we deeply care about. Moreover, being the master of our money fosters will provide peace of mind. To me, this is truly important.

Embracing the journey

Becoming the owner of your time and money is not an overnight transformation; it is a journey that requires dedication, self-awareness, and perseverance. It calls for introspection to identify your values and aspirations, thoughtful financial planning, and the willingness to make conscious choices that align with your goals. Based on my personal experience, 24 to 36 months is the timeline I feel idle if you wish to plan your journey accordingly.

Start by setting clear objectives, what actually you wish to achieve, and creating a roadmap to achieve them. While I’m not a financial guy, I must say that cultivating healthy financial habits such as living below your means, staying minimalist and slowing down your life pace helps. A lot. You can also work on prioritising personal growth and continuous learning, equipping yourself with the skills and knowledge by going deeper into the subjects you are good at, is critical too. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who can informally form a support ecosystem is a must so that your journey can really go a long way.

I remember when I started this journey last year, a number of friends texted me saying that they hardly see me active online and offline. It seemed that I became a ghost, in a way, and they kind of missed me.

Now that’s a good one.

I smiled and replied, saying that they are right. I am at the phase where I need to find peace and wish to slow down my life pace a little. I’m no longer into social media aggressive play, events and unnecessary professional networking sessions. I believe it is time for me to spend time on what I love to do the most—writing. Through writing, I think I help lift and inspire others better, and share what I know better that eventually will create a ripple effect of positive change in the world. This can be through articles and I do not have to be there physically.

Bottom line

Life is a precious gift, and it is up to us to make the most of it. Embrace the journey, align your actions with your values, and step into a life where you are the author of your own story. If you are into this, you will experience as a result of it is that it will enrich not only your life to be truly meaningful but also the lives of those around you.
