According to The Gibraltar Life Insurance Co.’s survey, single people in Japan have an average of 7.07 million yen or approximately $53,300 in savings, The Mainichi reported.
The survey was conducted on 4,700 unmarried people, of which 2,350 of the respondents are men while 2,350 of them are women whose aged ranges between 20 and 69. The insurance company ran the survey for two consecutive months in October and November 2022.
To zoom in deeper, on average men are having roughly 7.35 million yen or about $55,400 in savings while women on the hand have approximately 6.8 million yen or $51,300 in general. There is however 23.1 per cent of the respondents revealed that they have no savings.
