The End Of Sushiro’s Revolving Belt After Teens’ Indecency Sparks Outrage

News Asia 360

It was late January, when a video of a Japanese teen licking sushi from the conveyer belt, went viral. The entire nation was outraged. Sushiro received backlash as customers’ trust dropped. Seemingly, affecting their sales. The famous restaurant chain attempted to win back its patrons, by making serious changes to its operation.

The announcement on February 3rd, states that Sushiro won’t be providing sushi on the conveyer belt until further notice. Instead, customers will order sushi directly. Having it delivered through an express conveyor lane. Yes, the kind that rockets through and stops on the designated table.

The next policy allows customers to request new utensils. A convenience for customers who are suspicious of previous patrons, and prefer to not grab it from the provided utensil box. As for the third, Sushiro will be installing a see-through partition between the tables and the conveyor. An effort to dissuade any mischief among its patrons.

Sushiro has expressed that these are temporary measures, to discourage indecent activities within their restaurants, as they work towards a better and permanent solution.
