Spurs Made A Dramatic Come Back To Draw 2-2 With Man United In Thriller

News Asia 360

On Thursday, Tottenham Hotspur showed their fighting spirit in an exciting Premier League match when they managed to come back from two goals down and draw 2-2 with Manchester United. This result solidified the away team as the fourth place on the table.

Manchester United now have a 6-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur and 2 games in hand, which means that the London club’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season are all but gone.

Jadon Sancho gave United the lead in the 7th minute, demonstrating immense skill as he cut in from the left flank and delivered a precise low right-footed shot into the far corner, beyond three defenders and Fraser Forster in goal.

Marcus Rashford took advantage of a long pass from Bruno Fernandes to double Man United’s lead just before the half-time whistle. He used his pace to get away from Eric Dier and then scored past Hugo Forster after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg coughed up the ball.

Spurs’ Pedro Porro kept his team in the game when he scored a goal past David De Gea in the 56th minute after Harry Kane’s shot was denied.

Spurs’ spirits were uplifted by their goal, allowing them to produce further opportunities previous to Son Heung-min rescuing a point for them in the 79th minute via a Kane cross, with Ryan Mason in charge as interim head coach.

Spurs seemed to have been revitalized and had multiple possibilities to level the score, but Dier squandered the most apparent chance when he failed to find the goal from a nearby distance. The London club had been under immense pressure throughout the game, but when Son put in Kane’s cross to equalise in the 79th minute, it was an incredible sight that delighted their home supporters who appreciated their team’s strong will to get the point.
