South Korean media reports record-breaking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, with nearly 1.2 million units secured in the first week. This surpasses the previous Galaxy S23’s 1.09 million pre-orders within the same timeframe. Industry analyst ETNews predicts continued momentum, projecting shipments potentially reaching 36 million units – a potential new high surpassing the 30 million mark set by the Galaxy S10 duo in 2019.
Consumer interest extends beyond online pre-orders, with reports of increased foot traffic in physical stores as customers seek hands-on experience with the Galaxy S24 and its advanced AI features. One major carrier confirms over 60% of pre-orders are for the premium S24 Ultra model.
While impressive, pre-orders remain slightly below the Galaxy Note 10’s 1.3 million achieved in August 2019. Samsung has acknowledged the strong initial response, with official pre-order figures expected upon the series’ market launch on January 30th.
