The upcoming Pixel phone from Google may be the first device in their range to feature a foldable screen, which would put it in direct competition with Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Fold series. For some time now, speculation has been rife about the possibility of a bendable Pixel phone. This is especially true due to Google’s renewed focus on hardware in recent years.
It looks like Apple is planning to launch its own version of a foldable phone in the near future. There are rumours that this won’t happen till 2025, but Google has already jumped on board with their own device.
Samsung has made great strides in the foldable phone industry. During their August Unpacked event, they unveiled their fourth-generation products, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. These products demonstrate Samsung’s commitment to developing creative and innovative technologies for consumers.
Chinese smartphone giants, Huawei and Oppo, have launched their own foldable phones in the past year — namely the Mate X3 and Find N2 Flip. These devices are becoming increasingly popular and are already being embraced by the market.
Although the company has not yet made any official announcements about the Pixel Fold, reliable sources have stated that it will be officially unveiled at Google I/O on May 10. This is set to be one of the highlights of the event and many people are eagerly waiting for its arrival.

According to 9to5Google’s Monday report, Google’s first-ever foldable phone has made it through FCC – a regulatory process that usually takes place just before the device is released. According to previous reports from media outlets such as 9to5Google and WinFuture, the Pixel Fold is predicted to be available for purchase in June.
An exact figure isn’t available at the moment, however, 9to5Google reports that a confidential source has shared that the Pixel Fold could potentially cost under $1,800. This can only be confirmed on launch day though. According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 could cost less than $1,800. Some have even suggested that the price might be as low as $1,399.
It appears that the rumours may be true, as it lines up with Google’s strategy of outdoing its competitors in terms of price.
