Last October 2022, the Brussels Times published news about Decathlon decided to change its name to Nolhtaced in a few cities, Evere, Namur and Ghent for a month. The reason is totally inspiring although the objective is to boost revenues. And the stunt is absolutely creative too. Decathlon is promoting reverse shopping in Belgium, encouraging people to sell their existing or broken sports equipment to them so that they can repair and resell it back with a limited warranty. Any brand, just bring it over and Decathlon will offer a voucher instead of cash.
Thanks to the economic downturn and post-pandemic hardship, people are slowing down in purchasing new sports equipment. This trend triggers Decathlon to come up with that creative business stunt. Amazing, isn’t it?
