Since it’s more of a 4Runner alternative than a true Land Cruiser, you could argue the current Toyota Land Cruiser is the spiritual successor to the FJ Cruiser. After all, it is a boxy off-roader with some retro styling cues. But now there’s an official new Land Cruiser FJ, the production version of the Compact Cruiser EV concept that Toyota has revealed ahead of this year’s Japan Mobility Show. And while Toyota does refer to it as a prototype in some places, this is no concept. Production is planned to begin in the middle of 2026.
