Week after week, the event world returns to us. It’s fun to claim we’re having a great time, but meeting people takes time, so how do we know which networking group will benefit us the most?

There are many ways to go about this, but here are the top three.
- Get invited to a few events and see what happens. If you get asked out or make a friend, then congratulations! You’ve chosen wisely. If nothing happens, you’ll have to try another group.
- Attend an event with your target as a member of a group. This is great for building rapport before setting up future meetings with your target and learning more about them. For example, if they’re going to a certain event next month, you can ask them and possibly even get them tickets!
- Attend an event that isn’t on your list, but is still of interest to you such as conferences. If they’re talking about something that sounds interesting and relevant to what you do, you’ll be able to meet new people in the industry.
