Lenovo is no longer continuing with its Legion smartphone range, as more brands look to enter the gaming-focused smartphone market. After all the speculation, Lenovo has now officially confirmed the dire circumstances that have been circulating lately.
According to Android Authority, the publication contacted Lenovo and has been informed that the Chinese tech giant has ceased their Legion phone business.
Asus has pioneered the flagship gaming market with its ROG Phone series dominating the competition. Other rivals, such as those backed by Xiaomi (BlackShark) and Nubia (Red Magic), are also worth mentioning.
Gaming phones are built to deliver an optimal gaming experience. They come with features like shoulder buttons, improved cooling and larger batteries which set them apart from other flagship devices. Despite no longer being in the smartphone industry, Lenovo continues to employ the Legion brand for its gaming PCs. This decision reflects how much the company values its gaming sector and products.
Recently, the company unveiled LOQ, a new range of entry-level gaming laptops and PCs. It is positioned to compete with similar ‘budget friendly’ products like Acer’s Nitro and Asus TUF series.
