Lego pays tribute to the beloved ’80s arcade game with its new Logo Icons Pac-Man set. Consisting of 2,650 pieces, this intricate set replicates the iconic Pac-Man arcade cabinet, complete with a functioning coin slot, joystick, and a mechanical crank for moving the characters within the maze. While the set DOESN’T ALLOW actual gameplay, it features brick versions of Pac-Man and the ghosts Blinky and Clyde, which can be displayed on top of the cabinet or rotated on a base. The set also includes a hidden vignette of a female mini-figure playing Pac-Man in an arcade inside the cabinet.

Pac-Man, which underwent its first public focus test on May 22nd, 1980, became a global sensation. Designed and inspired by the iconic yellow colour of Lego bricks, the game achieved immense popularity, with over 293,000 arcade units installed worldwide within seven years of its release. The Lego Icons Pac-Man Arcade set, priced at $270 (£230), will be available to Lego VIP members from June 1st and released to the general public on June 4th. This latest release follows Lego’s successful ventures into nostalgic gaming, including sets for the Atari 2600 console and the Lego NES console in previous years.
