Former U.S. President Joe Biden, aged 82, was diagnosed on May 16, 2025, with stage 4 prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. The cancer is classified as aggressive, with a Gleason score of 9 and Grade Group 5, indicating a high potential for rapid growth. Despite the advanced stage, the cancer is hormone-sensitive, which allows for treatment options such as hormone therapy, chemotherapy, radiation, and possibly immunotherapy.
Biden’s last prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test was in 2014. According to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, routine PSA screening is not recommended for men over 70, which may explain the delayed detection. The diagnosis came after Biden experienced worsening urinary symptoms, leading to medical evaluation and the discovery of the cancer.
The Internet Reacts
“Thinking about the thousands of people who’ve been denied cancer treatment for the last 18 months in Gaza because of Joe Biden’s policies”, said an X user, Mohammad Alsaafin.
In similar tone, another user also expressed his opinion saying, “You destroyed the cancer hospitals of Gaza, but now you want love and support because you have cancer? f— off”.
