A daring theft unfolded in Caledonia, Michigan, when several high-end vehicles were stolen from Comodo Motors on Broadmoor Avenue SE according to Mlive. The heist quickly escalated into a high-speed chase involving multiple police agencies, showcasing the audacity of the thieves and the rapid response of law enforcement.

The dealership owner witnessed the theft in real-time through a live surveillance feed and promptly alerted authorities. Kent County sheriff’s deputies arrived just in time to see five vehicles speeding off the lot, including a blue Dodge Challenger, a black Chevrolet Corvette, a black Dodge Ram 1500 TRX, another black Dodge Challenger, and a white Jeep.

As the stolen vehicles headed north toward M-6, law enforcement pursued. Stop sticks were deployed on Broadmoor Avenue, partially disabling the blue Challenger. However, the driver managed to continue driving until abandoning the car near the M-6 and I-96 interchange, where they entered the white Jeep, intensifying the pursuit.

The chase reached speeds exceeding 100 mph before police lost sight of the white Jeep and the Corvette. Thanks to assistance from the Portland Police Department and the Ionia County Sheriff’s Department, the stolen black Dodge Ram was recovered, and a 19-year-old woman from Detroit was apprehended.

The stolen Corvette was later found abandoned in Livingston County, and the investigation into the whereabouts of the remaining vehicles continues.

“We are thankful that no one was injured as a result of the suspects’ reckless driving. The safety of our community remains our top priority,” said a Kent County sheriff’s spokesperson. They also emphasized the importance of collaboration with neighboring law enforcement agencies, which was critical in the swift response to this incident.

The arrest serves as a reminder of the risks associated with such brazen acts and highlights the vigilance of law enforcement in protecting public safety.
