First of all, I’m not referring to that Masters of Business Administration. Here, I want to talk about a different MBA, which is Masters in Business Aku. Aku is a Malay word that means “I” or “my” in English. Hence Master of Business aku means, “Master of My (Own) Business”
Yes, this is the MBA I’m about to share with you more — The Masters in My (Own) Business.
I want to stress that it is not easy to master in our own business, really. Entrepreneurship is a lengthy journey, and my article aims to instill the mindset that it cannot be achieved overnight.
Yes, that is a very important point to emphasize. Entrepreneurship is a long and often challenging journey, and it requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance to succeed. It’s not something that can be achieved overnight, and it’s important for aspiring entrepreneurs to understand this from the outset. By adopting the right mindset and being prepared to face the inevitable challenges and setbacks along the way, entrepreneurs can increase their chances of success and achieve their goals.
The learning process
Many begin the learning process by attending preschool or kindergarten and continuing through the learning process from Primary One to Secondary School, with some continuing their education to higher levels.
The issue I would like to raise is in terms of the subjects or fields of study that we, our friends, relatives, or others have undergone to acquire knowledge since our childhood.
The evolution of learning is ongoing and still taking place in the form of “subjects” that we continue to pursue.
Along with various methods and efforts to increase the number of entrepreneurs in this country, some have the notion that business knowledge can be acquired by merely taking courses or classes or after obtaining a Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s, or PhD, and then we are “qualified” to become successful entrepreneurs.
If this formula is correct, then all successful entrepreneurs are those with the highest academic qualifications, and those without education will not succeed; but this formula is incorrect.
In my personal opinion, the business learning “class” of “My Masters in Business” has certain subjects that not many will pass.
If, for example, to achieve a degree, we need to take a certain number of subjects, ranging between 120-140 Credit Hours with specific subjects, then there are various subjects required to become an entrepreneur that I would like to highlight.
‘Subjects’ you are about to ‘learn’
The Credit Hours of My Masters in Business will not end, and there is no certification because this program is continuous, but what I want to share is a little because I am also going through “this class and subject,” which may end in 20-30 or 40 years if I live long enough.
Among the subjects are:
- Principle of Less Sleep
- Failure Management
- Basics of Smiling When Disappointed
- Theory and Practice of Tying One’s Stomach
- How to Present to Your Funder
- Crying and Smiling Lessons
- Hated and Hatred
- Mental Stamina
- Physical Stamina
- God is the Best Mentor
- Praying and Making Dua
- The Power of Networking
- Bankruptcy is the Courage to Try
- Risk, Risk Taker, and Taking Risks
- Basics of Being Diligent in Reading
- Concept of Being Curious
- Theory of Always Being Positive
- Advanced Self-Motivation
- Advanced Focus on Family & Loved Ones
- Theory of Supercars as Your Motivation
- Theory of Getting Closer to the Creator
- Theory of Respecting Others’ Opinions Even When Disagreeing
- Theory of Wearing Clean and Tidy Clothes
- Theory of Maintaining Body Odor
- Concept of Continuous Learning
- Introduction to “Don’t Sulk”
- Principles of “No Need to Complain About the Government or Situation”
- Basics of Not Gossiping
- There’s a Chapter on “Don’t Get Angry with Banks If You Don’t Get a Loan, but Check If Your Proposal Is Incomplete”
- Thesis “If You Complain a Lot, It’s Better Not to Become an Entrepreneur”
- Concept of “Speak Only Good, It’s Better to Stay Quiet About the Bad”
- Theory of “Don’t Blame Other Races and Don’t Blame the Situation if You Don’t Succeed.”
There are many more subjects that you will actually learn. This is just a part of it.
There are many more lessons that you will learn from “Professor Nature” and “Doctor Situation”. If you go through the class “Failure Management”, then if you “Fail” in business or attempt, consider that you have passed that subject with “Flying Colours”.
If you have never experienced “Failure”, you have failed that subject.
If you want and are willing to face these subjects, then welcome to the “Faculty of Life Business School” by enrolling in the “Masters in Business Aku” program.
What is emphasized here is that when we enter or want to get involved in the “industry” or entrepreneurial field, we need to have mental and physical stamina. This element is important because the entrepreneurial world is a continuous journey and we must be able to take ourselves, our families, and our businesses through this journey.
In this journey, various joys and sorrows will certainly occur. Even if we take ourselves on a vacation, there will be various unforeseen things. But what is important is how we drive the ship in the stormy sea.
“Business is not a bed of roses even though you are selling the roses.”

Conclusion
What I want to emphasize here is that many are getting into the entrepreneurship field because they are attracted to sweet, great, and sensational stories that are advertised in magazines, newspapers, and social media. But we are rarely told about the difficulties that are faced before achieving success.
This article is not intended to give a negative perception of the entrepreneurial field, but it provides a general perspective on the preparations that need to be faced by almost every entrepreneur.
