Music has been part of our lives for a long time. We usually listen to songs according to our mood and emotions at that moment. Hence, that is how I stumbled on her music. Her first song that I listened to was “Runtuh.” It was a collaboration with Fiersa Besari, another Indonesian singer. I had the opportunity to attend her concert twice and she never fails to amaze me with her voice. Her soothing voice has the power to mend broken hearts and uplift spirits. This year, she returned to Malaysia for her second concert, “Feby Putri Vol. 2: Detik. Menit. Jam.” Held on July 27, 2024, at Zepp Kuala Lumpur, the concert was a sold-out affair, proving the singer’s immense popularity in the country. One of the fans held a sign that said “Usik comforted me during chemo.” Usik is a song about how someone has gone through pain in life and is trying to recover from it. While the other expressed how much Runtuh feels like a light in her life that guided and comforted her during the darkest days of her life.

For me, one of my favorites from Feby Putri is Cahaya, which reminds me that even though you are not sure what is going on in your life and you feel like nothing is working out, there will always be that light that will come through the cracks and will lead you to your destination.
