Last night, Everton celebrated 69 years in the English Premier League by earning a 1-0 victory against Bournemouth while Leicester were relegated, seven years after their spectacular title success. After three seasons in the Premier League, Leeds United are heading back to the Championship due to their 4-1 loss against Tottenham.
Everton fans were overjoyed as Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a brilliant goal from outside the box to break the deadlock at Goodison Park on 57 minutes. The Mali midfielder will undoubtedly go down in history as the hero of the night.
Consecutively, Leicester were mournful as they lost, in spite of their 2-1 triumph over West Ham.

Everton had the chance to determine their own destiny with the cheering of 40,000 supporters at Goodison Park, but they put everyone through a nerve-wracking experience before finally achieving safety.
Burnley have had some difficulty finding the back of the net, and sorely miss their star forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s presence in attack.
Leicester managed to win for only the second time in 17 games, however, it has unfortunately been too late to make much of an impact this season. Despite having a lot of potential, the Foxes have not seen their best form and have not lived up to their expectations. Leicester City have a number of talented offensive players, which was evident when Harvey Barnes exchanged passes with Kelechi Iheanacho before scoring the opening goal with composure.
Leicester City’s Wout Faes added their second goal shortly after the hour mark but it was already apparent to the King Power Stadium spectators that Bournemouth would not be able to deliver a much-needed victory for Everton.
Leeds had to rely on a series of favourable results but their odds were greatly reduced when Harry Kane put the ball in the net just two minutes after kickoff at Elland Road.
Pedro Porro increased Spurs’ lead early in the second half and after Jack Harrison had halved Leeds’ deficit, Harry Kane achieved a milestone of 30 Premier League goals for the season. Spurs’ victory was capped off with Lucas Moura’s last kick of a five-year association with the club. However, this result wasn’t enough for them to make it into the Europa Conference League next season after Aston Villa won 2-1 against Brighton to clinch seventh place.
Manchester City had already clinched their fifth title in six years, but their 25-game unbeaten run was snapped abruptly as Brentford defeated the champs 1-0. Despite the unexpected loss, Guardiola’s team has put together an impressive track record over the past few years.
The Bees pulled off an incredible victory over City when Ethan Pinnock scored the decisive goal five minutes before the final whistle. This was their second triumph over them this season and it will certainly be remembered for many years to come.
Arsenal managed to shrug off the disappointment of their title challenge not being successful and ended the season in style, with Granit Xhaka scoring twice in a thoroughly dominant 5-0 win against Wolves.
Manchester United secured third place with a 2-1 victory against Fulham and Newcastle achieved 1-1 draw against Chelsea. However, the most exciting match of the day was at St Mary’s where Southampton, who were already relegated, tied in a thrilling 4-4 draw with Liverpool.
