Digital Wallets And Online Payment Platforms Dominate YouGov’s Bank And Payment Brand Rankings 2022 In Malaysia

Touch ‘N Go was named the world’s best digital wallet in YouGov’s Bank and Payment Brand Rankings 2022. They scored an impressively high 39.9 points, giving them a solid first-place finish ahead of second-placed Maybank (38.7 points).

YouGov BrandIndex scoring is used to rank the list. The rankings show the brands with the best average Consideration score for Q4 in 2020 vs. Q4 in 2019.

Besides Touch ‘N Go on the rankings, DuitNow (29.0 points), FPX (23.2 points), Paypal (22.8 points), Visa (22.4 points) and GrabPay (20.2 points) are within the top seven of the same ranking too. Only CIMB is a solo representative of a traditional retail bank within the list which ranked eighth, scoring 19.9 points. MyDebit, a debit card company, together with Mastercard rounded off the top ten with scored 18.8 points and 18.5 points respectively.

Alongside the main list, YouGov also released the top ten most improved brands ranking for the financial services sector. DuitNow (+8.8 points) and Touch ‘N Go eWallet (+8.2 points) are the two players being the most improved brands this year. MyDebit (+3.0 points), FPX (+2.1 points) and JomPAY (+1.8 points) were the next most improved.
