In Singapore, consumers are getting more dependent on mobile apps and digital services in their daily routines. Festive and shopping seasons are upon us, and brands need to offer beyond just great discounts and vouchers. The brands need to offer a much more meaningful digital experience too.
Recent studies conducted by Cisco AppDynamics have found that around 86 per cent of Singaporeans are increasingly putting importance on the quality of shopping experiences while 99 per cent of consumers want a quick, seamless experience without any hiccups. Not just that, there is 72 per cent of them even say that below-par apps will make them truly upset and angry.
The study involved 12,000 respondents in the selected 12 countries. In Singapore, 1,000 people have participated by answering a number of questions related to the applications and digital services covering the subject of holiday season online shopping. Here is the summary of the findings.
- 94 per cent will depend on the shopping apps during the festive and holiday period
- 88 per cent will wait for major rounds of discounts on shopping sites to take advantage—such as during Singles’ Day, Black Friday, and Christmas.
- 90 per cent will rely on brands offering deals and discounts this year more than ever before.
- 73 per cent won’t accept any excuses for below-par digital experiences.
- 72 per cent suggest that brands have just a one-time chance to make them buy and no second chance if they screw it up.
- 96 per cent prefer the brands to have proper, more systematic updates on each transaction status so that they are able to keep track of the accuracy as they need those items to reach them on time.
- 97 per cent believe it is critical to take advantage of all the major deals and offers now as the costs of living are getting worse each year.
