Canada Declares Palestine Non-Existent

A new update has dropped for Canada’s Immigration policy. For them, Palestine does not exist.

Blair, a Palestinian Canadian shared on TikTok that the immigration officer left her a worrying voicemail. The voicemail says:

Good afternoon. I’m calling from Passport Services Canada. And I’m calling regarding your passport application. This is just to advise you that per your previous passport, when we do issue your new passport, per policy, your place of birth will just read “AL-BASSA, NO COUNTRY OF BIRTH” printed. Thank you.

Al-Bassa’ was a Palestinian Arab village located near the Lebanese border. In May 1948, the year of the Nakbah, the village was stormed by Haganah troops(Zionist military) and was completely burned to the ground.

The 90-year-old Palestinian refugee in Canada needed to renew her Passport

Blair’s grandmother, whose passport and age is older than Israel, has had Palestine written officially as her country of birth. After applying, she was told her country of birth is non-existent. Not through a formal letter, or a personal visit. But through a simple voicemail.

Today, what is left of Al-Bassa’ since Israeli forces burned it to the ground, is now cleared for Israeli construction projects.
