The Roche Children’s Walk is a cherished employee-led tradition, and in 2024,  they once again unite in their commitment to transform the lives of underprivileged children in over 75 communities worldwide.

In Malaysia, over 1,000 passionate Roche employees from the Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics, and Services & Solutions divisions united in a two-month fundraising effort to power the annual employee engagement and philanthropic event locally. Their creativity shined through a variety of employee-driven activities including bid4Charity auctions, appreciation gifts, food sales featuring home baked treats and exclusive Roche Children’s walk merchandise such as t-shirts in an effort to have a meaningful impact on the community, where we live and work.

The collective effort led by the employees resulted in raising  RM91,039.60 in 2024 which surpassed the MYR 75,000 raised in 2023 to support Rumah Perlindungan Safiyyah.

The culmination of the fundraising efforts was celebrated with a 2.5km walk in the Sunway area on June 13, involving Roche employees and representatives from the beneficiary organization. The event also featured a cheque presentation ceremony to Rumah Perlindungan Safiyyah,  solidifying Roche in Malaysia’s commitment to the cause.

“Our employees’ dedication and creativity during this year’s Roche Children’s Walk have been truly inspiring. We have not only raised funds for the children outside but also strengthened our own community and our own purpose and commitment internally to make a difference, to give purpose to our own work. The children’s walk also has a huge impact on our employees and our own networks within. This is what Roche stands for – compassion and communities within that brings meaningful difference to the communities outside and around us, said Deepti Saraf, General Manager of Roche (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

“At Rumah Perlindungan Safiyyah, we’re truly touched by the generous spirit exemplified by the Roche team in Malaysia. Over the last two years, the Roche Children’s Walk  has provided us with crucial support to meet the basic needs of our children in terms of food, education, and utilities.  The walk itself was a joyous occasion for the children, offering them a chance to be active outdoors alongside the passionate Roche team.  This, along with the sponsored essentials like toiletries, clothing, and stationery, has not only met their basic needs but also brought smiles to their faces and made a brighter future feel possible”. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Roche!” said Puan Mia, the founding mother of the Home.

The Roche Children’s Walk in Malaysia exemplifies the company’s enduring commitment to social responsibility. Through continued dedication, Roche empowers underprivileged children and creates a lasting positive impact on their lives.
