This marks the automaker’s second consecutive year of growth, fueled by a surge in electric vehicle (EV) sales and strong performance across its lineup. The fourth quarter saw an impressive 8.9% growth, with 117,506 vehicles sold. Passenger car sales jumped 12.9%, while light truck sales rose 6% during the same period.

Electric Vehicles Power Growth
BMW’s EV lineup had a standout year, selling 50,981 battery electric vehicles (BEVs), a 12.3% increase year-over-year. When combined with plug-in hybrids, electrified models accounted for 70,379 vehicles—19% of total sales.

Challenges for MINI
While BMW celebrated its achievements, MINI faced a challenging year. As the brand transitioned to a refreshed lineup, including the updated Countryman and Cooper S models, total sales dropped by 21.5% to 26,299 units. Fourth-quarter sales followed the trend, falling 18% to 8,748 units.

BMW’s record-breaking year in the U.S. market showcases the automaker’s ability to adapt to shifting consumer preferences, particularly the growing demand for electric vehicles. With continued innovation across its lineup, BMW is well-positioned to sustain its momentum in the years ahead.
