There is a new app making the rounds called “Pink WhatsApp.” This fraudulent application is a new method devised to scam phone users. Once the application is installed, it gains permission to access various data stored on the phone, such as bank details, photographs, passwords, and more.
Certain countries have issued alerts and advised users to be cautious of such links, as there have been reports of people getting duped.
To ensure your safety, it is important to download apps only from authorized sources such as the Google Play Store, if you have an Android phone. Apple phones, on the other hand, do not allow the installation of third-party apps, making them inherently safe. To ensure your online safety, it is important to avoid downloading APK files sent by someone or from unknown websites.
To confirm if a message has been forwarded by someone, simply check for the ‘Forwarded’ label at the top of the message. This will indicate whether the message has been forwarded or not. It is advisable to refrain from clicking on links sent to you through WhatsApp, particularly forwarded ones that may redirect you to unknown websites.
If you have already downloaded the application, it is recommended that you immediately back up your phone and perform a factory reset.
