Bank Indonesia (BI) has denied reports claiming it sold 11 tons of gold reserves in July 2025, clarifying that its holdings remain unchanged and that the information circulating in several foreign media outlets is inaccurate. The clarification followed a report citing World Gold Council (WGC) data, which suggested that Indonesia’s gold reserves had dropped by 11 tons during the month. The central bank, however, firmly rejected that claim.
