Australia’s ranking among the world’s most powerful passports has slipped, but it’s the epic fall from grace for the United States that has everyone talking. The 2025 Henley Passport Index revealed that Australians can travel to an impressive 185 countries without requiring a visa, making it the equal seventh most powerful passport in the world, tying with Poland, Malta and the Czech Republic. Last year, the Australian passport was ranked equal sixth with 189 countries accessible. In 2023, the Aussie passport ranked equal eighth.
