According to reports, Arsenal are looking to offload Granit Xhaka for a fee of £13 million in the summer, with the player’s wife showing interest in going back to Germany. According to Kicker, the portal suggested that the family connections of Xhaka could work in Bayer Leverkusen’s favour with regards to the club keeping an eye on him.

Granit Xhaka has been a great addition to Arsenal’s squad this season and it seems strange that he’s reportedly considering leaving the Emirates. According to Goal, Mikel Arteta wouldn’t try to stop Xhaka from leaving the club if he chooses to do so.

And Bayer Leverkusen are keen to sign Swiss international Granit Xhaka and Arsenal might be willing to let him go at a lower price. Arsenal will likely ask for around £13 million if they decide to part ways with Xhaka, Kicker reported. His current contract is set to expire in 2024.

According to a German media outlet, Xhaka’s wife is eager to go back to Germany, as they first crossed paths when he was playing with Borussia Monchengladbach. It is a strong possibility that the midfielder will be heading back to Germany’s Bundesliga after having been in England for seven years.

It would be highly unexpected for Arsenal to let Xhaka depart in the summer transfer window, especially considering that he has had an exceptional season as the club’s captain.

However, Arsenal are not expected to go against the player’s wishes if he chooses to pursue other opportunities. Going into next season, Arsenal had already planned to revamp their midfield. Reports have indicated that they are interested in signing Declan Rice as part of the renovation. If Xhaka states his longing to go back to Germany, Arsenal may be compelled to recruit more new players than initially expected.
