HC Newsroom has reported that WhatsApp for Android is trialling a search bar to sort the settings menu and introducing a new short video message option for improved authenticity and speed in conversations. WhatsApp beta has now added a search bar icon on the top right corner of the screen. With this feature, you can quickly filter through various options to find the setting you need in no time.
Updating your status has been made a lot easier – all you need to do is open the settings and search for “Status” in the filter. The new search bar also helps to reduce unnecessary scrolling on the settings page, making it an even swifter process. Android users who have newly installed the app may find this feature extremely beneficial in terms of time-saving.

WhatsApp is currently experimenting with a new feature – video messaging. This will enable users to record short video messages instead of traditional text messages. Reports suggest that WhatsApp is currently developing a feature that would enable users to capture and share short videos.
After recording, you can easily share your video with the other person. The user interface is quite intuitive and makes it easy to navigate. Unlike a regular video call, capturing and sending a video message can be done in real time within the app. The special feature also allows you to authenticate the source of the message – ensuring its credibility.
Exactly, this feature is limited to only 60 seconds of the timeline.
WhatsApp beta testing users with app versions 2.23.8.20 and 2.23.8.19 are currently able to access the settings search bar feature and real-time video messages as a reward for participating in the program.
