Ali Daei: My Wife And Daughter Were Ordered To Disembark The Plane

News Asia 360

Ali Daei, the Iranian football legend, said the plane his wife and daughter were on, had been diverted to Iran’s Kish Island near the Gulf, and both were ordered off. According to Iranian news organisations, despite being ordered to disembark the plane, they weren’t arrested. Ali Daei is a former German Bundesliga football player and a legend in his country Iran. His wife and daughter were on Mahan Air on Monday, heading to Dubai from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran, according to the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA).

The authorities are keeping mum on the situation. “I really don’t know what is the reason behind this,” he said. He is trying to arrange his wife and daughter to return to Tehran immediately.

Ali Daei was allegedly identified for expressing his support to the movement in the recent protest that has rocked Iran since the death of Mahsa Amini. Mahsa or her other name was Jina, a young Iranian woman, died in custody after being arrested by the country’s morality police for allegedly disobeying the country’s dress code.
