The active duty member set himself on fire in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
Aaron Bushnell, an active duty member of the US Air Force demonstrated an extreme form of protest only heard of in history. This is a first in America.
In a video shared on X, Aaron Bushnell expresses:
“I’m an active duty member of the US Air Force. And I will no longer be complicit in genocide. I’m about to engage in an extreme act of protest. But compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers… it’s not extreme at all.
This is what our ruling class has decided, would be normal.”
For a few seconds after, Aaron Bushnell walks silently towards the gates of the Israeli embassy.
Wearing his military uniform, he poured a flammable liquid all over him. He proceeded to burn himself. As the fires erupt, he is heard chanting “Free Palestine!”
The active duty member Aaron Bushnell has reportedly passed away due to severe injuries.
Viewers discretion advised:
The burning has been censored but the audio can be heard clearly. It is extremely unsettling.
