A transgender influencer from Thailand has recently introduced a unique makeup look that pays homage to Ganesha, a Hindu deity. Titled “Gajanani,” the look reimagines the god in a feminine form. While the influencer intended the look to be appreciated as an artistic expression, emphasizing the technical aspects of makeup application and innovative color techniques, it has ignited a heated online debate.

A user by the name amritha3969 commented, “While Gajanani is a canonical Goddess, she is scholarly and is not very ornamental.this portrayal is so far off,it borders on caricaturish”.

Critics have accused the influencer of disrespecting religious sentiments, particularly regarding the choice of attire. They argue that the look trivializes the sacred figure of Ganesha.

herbinger_141 expressed his opinion by saying, “so Goddess Vinayaki wears a bra or such an outfit? Great I think you are reading some other type of scriptures. The attire of this person in the video is shambolic and vulgar in nature and that’s why I am saying that this is a distortion of culture and traditions and an insult to Sanatan Dharma”

However, the influencer maintains that the intention behind the makeup was to showcase creativity and skill, rather than to make any religious statements.
