A New Blessing For Family Of Tragically Lost Rayan

News Asia 360

The family of the late Moroccan child, Rayan Oram, welcomed a new baby in the city of Tetouan on the first anniversary of Rayan’s death. Rayan’s story captured the world’s attention in February 2022 when he fell into a well that was 32 meters deep. Despite rescue attempts, he was stuck for 5 days before his body was recovered. The news of his death was a shock to Moroccans and the world.

The father, Khaled Oram, expressed happiness over the new child’s arrival but noted that the coincidence was a difficult matter. However, he ruled out naming him Ryan, considering it inappropriate to reuse the name of a person who had passed away.

The late child, who was from the small mountain village of Agran in Chefchaouen, became the most famous Arab figure during the days of the rescue attempt. The incident sparked sympathy and human solidarity from various countries, with the Moroccan and Arab masses hoping for a successful rescue.

The father, who works in different daily-fee jobs, stated he did not receive any help from the promised sources but was sponsored by Moroccan King Mohammed VI for him and his wife to perform Umrah in Mecca. Despite not receiving any help from those who promised to help during the crisis, the parents are coping little by little. They are consoled by the presence of their two other children, Lubna and Badr.
