Jonathan Meijer, a Dutch man who has donated sperm to countless families, is suing Netflix over its documentary, “The Man With 1,000 Kids.” He claims the documentary sensationalized his story and made false claims about the number of children he has fathered.
Meijer, who has acknowledged fathering around 550 children, says the documentary’s estimate of up to 3,000 children is inaccurate and misleading. He is seeking legal action to correct these inaccuracies and protect the families he has helped create.
The documentary’s portrayal of Meijer has raised concerns about the potential consequences for the children involved. The Dutch court has previously ordered Meijer to stop donating sperm due to concerns about the large number of half-siblings who could be unaware of each other.
Meijer has defended his actions, claiming that he has always been transparent with the families he has helped. He has also expressed concern about the impact the documentary is having on the children, who are now being recognized in public.
