Abu Bakar, a 70-year-old cleaner from Bangladesh, has dedicated 27 years of his life to his job in Malaysia without taking a single day off. His unwavering commitment has allowed him to support his family and ensure his children’s success. He worked in a mall, namely, Klang Parade.
Bakar left his hometown in Bangladesh 31 years ago, drawn to the prospect of better job opportunities in Malaysia. He has worked tirelessly, seven days a week, sending most of his earnings back home to provide for his children’s education and living expenses.
“All of this is for their future. I came to Malaysia because I heard there were plenty of jobs here. Even if it is just doing jobs that no one else wants to do, I’ll do it,” he said.
Despite his modest salary, Bakar has managed to support his family, including a judge, a doctor, and an engineer. “I’m truly grateful for what my children have achieved,” he said in an interview.
Bakar’s simple and repetitive daily routine has been driven by his unwavering dedication to his family. “Each day, I wake up, shower, have breakfast, go to work, return home, call my family in the village, and then rest,” he said to news outlets.
