51 Days After ICJ Ruling On Israel, Not Much Has Changed

America and its allies continue to remain silent. The mask is off, and the world acknowledges a dying empire and its hypocrisy. America has nothing else to hide behind besides its military capabilities.

Its citizens and people around the world, now identify America, not as a beacon of freedom and democracy but as a typical tyrant submitting itself to the apartheid state of Israel.

Israel’s oppression continues

At least 40,939 Palestinians have been murdered by the IOF in Gaza. 10,000 people are reportedly missing. In the West Bank, the latest tally is 682, including 158 children.

Israel continues to bomb densely populated refugee camps and residential areas in Gaza. Families seeking shelter in schools have also been bombed by Israeli warplanes.

Israel government forced a Palestinian man to demolish his own home

Raed al-Rajabi, a Palestinian resident in Beit Hanina, East Jerusalem, was forced to demolish his own home. His residence housed more than 10 family members and was built in 2014.

Israeli authorities claimed al-Rajabi did not have a permit to build a house.

In reality, The Jerusalem Municipality, controlled by Israeli authorities, routinely denies building permits to Palestinians. Al-Rajabi, like most Palestinians, have two options,  demolish the homes or face forced demolitions and pay expensive fines.

IOF sniper murdered American activist

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi a Turkish-American was an active member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). The organisation is pro-Palestine and actively protest against Israeli occupation.

Eygi attended a peaceful protest against illegal Israeli settlements near the West Bank Village of Beita. A location near the city of Nablus.

Witnesses reported that an IDF sniper, stationed on a rooftop, shot at Eygi after she moved to an olive tree nearby. An autopsy found that Eygi had died due to a fatal shot to the head.

Israel’s reaction? Its forces had fired towards “a main instigator of violent activity who hurled rocks”.

Participants of the protest denied the claim and said that the protest was peaceful.

In response to the murder of its citizens, America requested Israel to do a full investigation. A response that’s all too common which always ends with nothing.

If they leave [an inquiry] to the Israeli military, it will go on for weeks and months and then it will be forgotten, like the many cases before this,” said Sultan Barakat, professor of public policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, reported by Al Jazeera.

Has international pressure lightened?

51 days after the ICJ ruling, the situation for Palestine has remained more or less the same.

If the world needed any more proof that international organisations are a vain facade, the treatment of this modern-day genocide, is all the proof it needs.
