2 Decade Old Boiled Egg Rediscovered As A “Ruby”

A Chinese local went viral after rediscovering a hard-boiled egg left by her mother 20 years ago. The hardboiled egg had turned into a translucent reddish-coloured “ruby”.

The keeper of the 20-year-old egg, Fu, shared that the egg was smaller than usual. The reason why her mother had boiled it for her to eat in school. However, she had forgotten to eat it. The egg was left for 3 days, but because of its unusual size, the mother and daughter decided to keep it in the fridge.

2 months later, the egg had turned into a “ruby” and Fu decided to keep it in a jewellery box. The box sat in a corner of their home which her mother rediscovered 20 years later.
